Auditory Letter-Sound Drill Work Activities
We will be completing some auditory drill work together--you may want to grab something to write on. It could be a piece of paper, dry erase board, or simply 'table' or 'carpet' write by using your finger to write the correct letter on the surface in front of you . We call this AUDITORY drill work because your child will be using their ears to listen to each sound that Mrs. Stover says. They will repeat the sound, and then name and write the letter that makes that sound on their paper/board. This drill helps your child become automatic in their letter and sound fluency, which assists them in spelling. Drill Work activities will progressively become harder. If your child has any trouble with Drill Work #1, do not progress to Drill Work #2, instead, continue to practice the #1 activities until your child is fluent with those letters and sounds. For fluent students, always have them begin with Drill Work #1 and then progress through all levels of drill work. Simply click the link below to find our auditory drill work video(s)-have FUN!
Handwriting Printables:
TIP--place the printed handwriting activity in a sheet protector. Use a dry erase marker to practice writing letters--now every sheet is reusable!
